Opportunities for Fall 2008

BLAST  Biblical Learning and Sharing Time (Formerly known as Kids church or Chapel)Sunday morning from 8:45 -9:50 am - All children, ages 3—5th grade, are invited to come start their Sunday morning off with praise and worship led by Tim Hamilton and the “God Squad”. ( you don’t want to miss out on this! ) A Bible lesson and prayer time will follow and then the children will be brought over to Doar Hall to join their parents for Holy Communion. *Children must be 3 by September 1, 2008. Please make sure that we have an updated registration form for each child.

Sunday School  is offered starting at 10:30 am—11:10 am. Children are welcome to join us for age appropriate, “Hands On Bible” fun full of activities and crafts that reinforce the Bible points each Sunday.

F.F.A.D. from 10:30 am—11:10 am Sunday. Families that are looking for a way to meet new families or catch up with others will enjoy this new offering! We’ll gather in the Worship Center of the C/Y building for a relaxed time of Family Fellowship and Devotions. Children will find punch and cookies while their parents enjoy delectable coffees just for this special gathering time. A short devotion/prayer will be offered for the closing. Thematic devotional series, including “How to Bless Your Children” and “Financial Peace for Juniors” will be introduced throughout the fall.

Midweek ??? - If you are struggling with how to pass on your  faith to your children one way is to have family devotions. It’s hard to find the right devotional book that works for the range of ages in our families today.  We are recommending two…”Bringing God Home” is a wonderful family devotional that will be easy for anyone age 3 to 103 to use & understand. It follows the church calendar and includes one devotion for each day of the week. “The One Year Book of Devotions for Kids” is another great devotional for older kids and adults that has a devotional for each day of the week. Faith begins in the home, so pick up your copy (for sale in the St. Paul’s bookstore) and start your own daily devotions (formerly known as our midweek program or SPARK) and pass on a heritage of faith and spirituality to your children.

If you have any questions about these offerings or Children’s Ministries, contact Tina Smith, Dir. of Preschool Ministry, 873-1991ext20 or Cathy Jacobs, Dir. of Elementary Ministries, 873-1991 ext 34.
